Default Other tire noise help

Hey all, my uncle has a 97 A4 quattro, and he's been having
an irratating tire noise when the car is running in city and
highway. I checked it out and seems like the tires are fine
but I'm guessing its either the tire, mud guard under the fender,
or it needs an alignment. Any suggestion or idea of how I can
help him out? Thanks!

They only hint you have given us, is that the noise is "irritating" ...
better bust out some more descriptive vocab, my friend.

well i think the first question should be, "what kind of tires are you running?"

The question is "is it tire noise, or is it a wheel bearing that is starting to go. If it is coming from one of the wheel wells, rotate the tires. If the noise follows the tire then it is tire noise.

If the noise stays in the same spot, it is likely a wheel bearing starting to go bad.

I know my vocab sucks but that's my uncle's A4. I take it for a drive test
to see where the noise is coming from and yes it is very irritating especially
for him when he drives it in the highway. The only thing I haven't checked
is to see if the tire is mounted in the wrong direction.

Thanks for the clues!

Thats what I orginally thought. You have directionals in the wrong way. . . . . I hope it isn't wheel bearings.
