Ok, so I gave into peer pressure... How bad?
Ok guys, so my buddy sitting shotgun kept on saying "Dude, lets launch your car!"
I kept on saying no, but it eventually got to me.. Lol, god damn friends sometimes...
So anyways, I stepped on my brakes as hard as I could, then hit the gas till it got to 2k RPM, then I let go of the brakes and hit the gas asap. I think I did it wrong because I barely felt anything...
So I tried again, same thing... Tried one last time, and no luck. Maybe I wasn't reving high enough, or I'm just the moron that I am..
So anyways, how bad did I mess up my car? Total of 3 times just now @ 2k RPM each time.
Anything I should be worried about?

I doubt you harmed anything launching from 2000 rpm. christ, that's not even a launch with a manual tranny, that's just pulling away from a light quickly.

Sounds good, I'm about to do my Timing Belt Job done in about a week.
Then after that, spark plug change and a tranny fluid flush, it's about time hitting 80,000 miles soon.

dude that is nothing, if you hurt anything it was your ego
j/k
i had an s-10 and did a nice big old burnout and slammed it into gear before the clutch was fully engaged and ruined a clutch
i also was brake torquing a blazer and blew out the rear diff
on the audi i did about a 3500 - 4000 rpm launch and smelled a lil clutch wear, so if you hear or smelled nothing and had no ill effect while driving you should be fine

I launch with a TIP at 2200 RPM's and it throws me in the backseat.
I'm curious if any of the earlier models have rev-limiters if you're on the brake.
If I recall correctly, the B7's have it and if I ran it up to 2800 or 3000 RPM's it would die out on me.
Either way, brakestands are bad.
If you insist on doing them, keep the RPM's as low as you can go while still allowing the engine and turbo to make boost for the launch.
Then hope you don't fark it up.
