lol. whoever did that speed is lucky his engine didnt turn into this little thing we so commonly call a GRENADE

and im really sorry but CMON PEOPLE!!!! THINK!!!!! a K&N DROP IN FILTER CANT CHANGE YOUR SPEED AT A GIVEN RPM!!! good lord im sorry but i can take this anymore!!!!! i could put 50238940273840273498237498 horsepower in my engine and 7200 rpm would still be 159 miles and hour!!!!!!!!!

1- a k&n wouldn't even add horsepower
2- bigger wheels mean going faster at a certain rpm
3- horsepower doesn't add to top speed. it enables the car to reach what the tranny is capable of

i have hit 132ish on my b5...

but then i gotta cell when i turned the car off...

Stock wheels are rated for 130mph... i think thats why i got the cell...

the cel said something about auxilury speed or some crap...

and as for the rpms... when i was using the stock air box my rpms would be at around 4000 while going 80... but when i got my short ram K&N filter their about at 3700 while going 80...
LOL your car doesn't know what your tires are rated at. i think you got it for hitting the rev limiter

haha, funny stuff..

i just skimmed throught most of the posts, playing catch up right now. but to answer the questions i remember

REVO BT software. hands down. get it. there is no other option for you

157ish mph is what i have got on my car. with a little bit of rpms left.

and if you try to get to that mph, you are going to find it comes A LOT faster than if you tried it with your k03

the gearing stays the same. no matter what you have done to the engine/turbo/software, when going 80mph in 5th gear, you will always be at 4000rpms(this is for 5speed tranny)

you don't need internals as long as you run it on pump gas and below 20psi for daily driving... if you were to run around all day everyday on race gas and 25psi, you are making enough power to bend a rod..

our internals are not forged. the pistons are good for about 550Bhp. and the rods are good for about 400Bhp. but the longevity of your engine will directly reflect your tune. with REVO on your B6, you'll be fine. so don't worry.

and great choice on the turbo. you'll be very happy.. for the exhaust manifold. i recomend the treadstone manifold over the ATP one.

the pic actually belongs to a user over on audizine, "Tifun". he took the pic using vag com(his car was not actually moving or even idling)

you'd need at the least, rods and custom software to reach that rpm/speed

well for the bottem end, with rods, you can do it no problem.. but stock pistons could melt at that point. just a possibility..

and anything over 8k rpms(sometimes over 7500k)you'll get what's called valve float. which is basically the valves are moving so fast that the stock valve springs aren't strong enough and have enough rebound to push the valves up enough between each engine cycle.. so if you plan on reving your already built engine past 7500rpms regularly, you should upgrade your valve springs also
