oil temp sender???
So i'm about 45 minutes into a nice saturday afternoon drive when i look down at my gauges to see that my oil temp gauge is maxed out (350+). i immediately pull over to check it out. i get out and pop the hood, everything looks good. no bad smells, no smoke, nothing unusual. so i get back in my car, turn on the ignition, and BAM! the oil temp gauge shoots back up...since i couldn't see or smell anything wrong, i figured it's an electrical issue, and i drove it home the rest of the way (~5 miles)...now i'm trying to find an oil temp sender in my bentley, but i'm not finding crap...anyone have any suggestions?

RE: oil temp sender???
ok....more bad news....it's not a sensor problem because i just went back to my car and the temp gauge is normal....[:@] so that means i was running my car at 350+ degree oil temp. i'm stumped as to why i couldn't tell the oil was that hot when i opened the oil cap. i hope i didn't ruin anything in there. now i'm thinking maybe the oil cooler is bad. any ideas??? HELP ME PLEASE!!

Look at your dip stick. Check the level and rub some oil between two fingers. Is it smooth?

This def sounds like a sensor issue since you drove it at max and then later it was normal
The sensor is on the bottom of the oil pan also called the oil level thermal sensor its a quick change you could diy
