Oil Grade
Hello,</P>
I live in Canada where the temperature gets really cold. Just wondering about oil grade. I use mobil 1 10W 30 Tri Synthetic oil all the time. I mean I have never changed oil grades. Is this o.k. Should I be using something else. I can't find the audi recommended oil grade in the stores so I usually goto walmart and purchase this oil. Am I kiilling my engine or is there a better grade for better performance that I should be using. I do get some slight hesitation on hills and sometimes in third gear. Is this caused by oil grade. Maybe the hesitation should be another topic. But please answer the oil grade question. When should Ichange my oil. It sometimes getsdark really quick(light brown color). Should I worry. I don;t think I could last without changing it every 5000 km's or can I? Thanks guys/gals.</P>

Every 5000Km is no problem if you are using TriSynth. I go every 3-5K miles on full synthetic. Your oil grade is fine - but if you are really paranoid, you can go with 5w30 during winter. If you have a turbo engine 10w30 is perfectly ok cuz turbo engines run hotter anyway.
Right now I am running 15w50 as an experiment - its specifically made for turbo engines and since my car is chipped the turbo gets hotter, hence the oil gets hotter. I feel no difference, and starting the engine when cold (below freezing temps) has not been any different. I think the whole oil grade issue is totally blown out of proportion.

Let me know if you'd like to save a little money and get a little higher quality oil. See test below, done by ASTM. We have a great Turbo oil too Brrman

<SPAN class=bold>Thanks for all the info </SPAN><SPAN class=bold>SyntheticsMan. O.k. I'm confused. You can get me a better quality oil for a cheaper price. First off how much and secondly from where? Again I do live in Canada and Walmart does have some great deals on 4 quarts(I think the bottle is four). Oh by the way it is full synthetic(my bad) that I use. Man if you can beat the prices and the oil is better then why wouldn't I do it. Fill me in buddy.</SPAN></P>

Oil Grade
Here's how it works, You order amsoil from my website, get a preferred customer package, this gets you dealer costs. Our oil is Guaranteed for 25k or 1 year. with a filter change at 6months or 12.5k, This is how you save tons of money. Our oil can go that long cause its that damn good, and our filters have 100% more capacity than any others. This is why they last so long. And they filter particles smaller than others too. Keeping the oil cleaner.
Also, we have a bypass system that filters particles smaller than a micron. See pic of one on my truck. <img src=uploads/SyntheticsMan/D3ZE5_bypass_002.JPG border="0"><edited><editID>SyntheticsMan</editID><editDate>37984.8900347222</editDate></edited>
