RE: Oil Dipstick
mine has been broken (same symptom) for the last 100k miles. u don't need to go out of ur way to the dealer just for the dipstick. you could just pick it up next time you are there getting something important.

RE: Oil Dipstick
For a 1.8T with no oil pan or relocated filter mods.
jack up car.
drink a beer.
remove drain plug.
drink a beer.
let oil drain.
drink 2 beers.
remove filter.
round up 4.3 quarts of Mobile 1 5W30.
drink a beer.
add a little bit to the new filter and the seal.
drink a beer.
clean crap/sand out from around the oil cap with rag - don't let any get in the crankcase.
drink a beer.
put the rest of the oil in the crankcase.
drink 2 beers.
you will be at the correct oil level.
drink a beer.
lower jack from car.
drink 2 beers.
take a nap.
