I notice BIG TIME. When I get my car done at the Oil Doctor, my car pulls out feeling brand new and very happy...
I love the feeling you get when you roll outta there with fresh oil (the car handles so much nicer).

RE: Oil Change Question
If you can trust the guys at Walmart, they will do a oil and filter with Mobil 1 synthetic for under 40 dollars.
I Have a 1.8T, and bring my own filter. It only costs about 10 dollars more than the cost of the oil itself. It is worth it to me not to hav to fiddle with the lower shield and getting under the car. Of course I watch the morons there like a hawk.
Last time they tried to put the copper washer for the drain plug on the filter.
BTW, no need to change your oil every 2K miles, unless you drive 2K per 6 months. Every 5K miles or 6 months whichever is sooner is plenty. More frequently is a waste of your money and creates more waste oil.
