Default Oil Change Question

As of now, I am due for an oil change. I normally bring the A4 to Oil Doctor (www.oildoctor.com) and pay them $40 to do the deluxe (they check all the fluids, tire pressure, etc).

My question is, is it okay? Is the oil that they put into my car (I'm not sure what they even put into it, but I know it's something made by Mobil because they have the logos all over the damn place) okay for an Audi? Should I go elsewhere?

I do NOT want to change my own oil.

Where do you guys recommend for the east coast (Massachusetts) area?

well if you are paying only $40 you're probly not getting mobil1 full synthetic (they're probly giving you the cheapest stuff they've got) you want full synthetic. how long do you go in between changes?

they're site says mobil1 but make sure they're putting that in. you may have to pay extra for it cause its not cheap.

I will specially request that oil when I bring it in.

Right now I'm putting 2k in between changes (but it's been 3k for this one), because I love the feeling you get when you roll outta there with fresh oil (the car handles so much nicer).

I notice BIG TIME. When I get my car done at the Oil Doctor, my car pulls out feeling brand new and very happy.

A happy Audi is key. lol

I do my own oil changes. Its amazingly easy and I can do it for under $24 using a full synthetic oil. I don't know why you pay someone to do something this easy...

Granted, my car has run historically on Castrol GTX non synthetic. I changed to synthetic when I bought it. A synthetic is required, but i haven't had any issues.

unless your getting shitty oil that breaks down quick, so when you get new oil it reduces friction and improves performance

Does anyone have a link to a guide on how to change the oil in my car?

If I where to see a guide that looked easy, I may try it. Otherwise I'll leave opening my car up to the proffessionals.

A uh... guide? Well...audiworld article

Don't be intimidated... it's removing a bolt and unscrewing a filter... thats it, and replacing the oil and filter.
