Default Noob Question... How do you determine a misfire?

Hey Everybody!

How can you tell if your car (plugs) misfires? I'm not sure if it's happening to me but for some reason when idling my car would stutter once and then resume normal idling. This does not happen often (maybe 1 a week based on driving 7 days).

Thanks in advance for your advice...

Do your rpm's actually drop? Or does it just feel that way?

Check for stored codes.

When does it do it? When engine is cold or hot when coming off highway?

Is it your air conditioning clutch engaging?
