Noisey noisey noisey :(
I think my turbo is making a siren type noise at about 1650 - 2200 rpm (then I think it gets drowned by the motor). This happens when it's really cold. Any ideas? Would my turbo make the same noise if it was in neutral and revved it up a bit??

turbos make a whining noise when they spool, it's normal. if it's abnormally loud it may be that your internals are going bad and you might need a new turbo soon. if you can post a sound clip we can help you out better

did it just start making this noise? if so, and it wasn't making the noise before, and it sounds like a police siren whenever you hit the gas, your turbo is dunzo. but there is good news. gives you a good excuse to upgrade

Well, I had some issues with oil pressure & a sticky lifter a while back. I thought it was an Low oil problem and overfilled the engine with oil? Engine is fine though! I had a broken breather assembly/breather tube (which I think makes its way to the turbo?) so that was never connected. When I put it all back together it now has this siren type noise between 1650 rpm & 2300rpm but then I can't hear anything? Sort of quietens when it's warm. Any Ideas?
