Just today, i started hearing this weird noise from the rear of the car, let me try and describe it:
it sounds like a whiring rotary kind of grinding noise.

when the car is on the road i dont notice it much but, when i stop, i can hear it inside the car and more obvious at the back.

I get out and duck down at the rear of the car and the noise isreally loud there and in the boot.

Would anyone know what this may be?

Probably the fuel pump my makes a gurgling noise sometimes.

 

yes i thoghut so too, but is this normal for the audi A4? does it mean the fuel pump is nackered?

 

Hey, did you ever figure out what this is? I think I just started getting the exact same noise on my 03 A4. It's a very strange noise that's periodical, like one noise every half second. As untechnical as this sounds, my wife described it this way: "sounds like a robot that's about to blow up", almost sounds like some kind of pump with something stuck in it or something.

Any ideas?
