No3. CYL Fault Open Circuit
Hi! Guys/Gells.... Not been on ere for a while, Audi been fine till now.....
Any engine management light pro's ere....
Drove car 20 odd miles stopped it then it wouldn't start again, No3 cyl coil had melted apparently a common fault with A4 1.8T
so i've had a new coil fitted but still the fault wont clear, so then i replaced the coil connecting plug as this had slight melting too..
but still the fault wont clear, Anyone had this problem, or no what to do PLEEEEEASE...
been told by local machanic that the wires to no 3 cyl may be faulty since it blow the fuse, but surely the fuse is there to protect the cable....
Any Info or tips would be much appreciative...

If you need to clear the codes, just pull the neg battery cable for a minute or two.
This will clear them. just make sure you have the radio code and instructions in your manual, because you will need to re-input the radio anti-theft code.

Yes Lads!!! I have a code reader thats how i know it's No. 3 cylinder open circuit...............i just cant remember the code numbers off top of me head.
It's been reset umpteen times but the fault still comes back
Any other ideas you think it could be if i've changed the coil and the plug and coil connection on that cylinder No. 3

What year/engine?
Could be ICM, or need a new wiring harness.
