Default no power on accel

ijust bought my first audi today "2002A4 1.8T 78k miles" I can't hear the turbo? and when i first take off the car won't get out of
its own way. Is the boost supposed to be noticable on this model?
Any help or advise would be great.
Thanks.

get used to it.. haha. try turning ur ac on then starting out.. the turbo is really small and you cant really hear it unless your in a tunnel listening for it or get a cone filter intake. get a reflash its worth the money, about $500

will the reflash help with the lag? And could it be a DV problem?

you shouldn't ever notice any lag in a stock A4 1.8T. the turbo is tiny, meaning it spools almost instantly. our engines develop their peak torque at a very low RPM, around 2000 or a little less even.

is your check engine light on?

I just went for a drive with the windows down and sounds it makes are a lot more hissing than whining, so
a boost leak might be the culprit.

most likely is. get a boost gauge, imo every car should have them stock, best way to tell if you have a major leak which it sounds like you do. if you do get one you should be spiking around 9 psi and the vacuum should be aroudn 22hg
