Also, this may sound dumb, I came across a video on youtube on rev matching while donwshifting last night. No one every informed me that makes for smoother downshifts. Anyway, I've been doing it today. What a difference it makes!! Much, much smoother into any gear.
Haha! i take it this is your first manual car? and who taught you? cause they need to not teach anyone else [8D]

glad you're on the right track now! nothing beats the feeling ofputting alongin 4th and downshifting(while rev matching) super smooth into 2nd and just laying down the hammer.

now a question? how familiar are you with Heel/Toe'ing?

Your're soooo right! Watched vids on that too last night. Tried it today, but the pedals aren't set up for it. The gas is higher than the brak, so it makes it very difficult to tap it with the heel without increasing break pressure. One day soon I'll get the AWE pedals and learn how to heel/toe smoothly. For now, I"ll get used to the rev matching.

BTW my dad taught me how to drive stick in about 10 mins. We were kind of in a rush. He brought my car up to my college the previous night and had to get to the airport that afternoon. It's my second stick actually. I did drive motorbikes before the car though, and I knew the principles are the same. My first was a Nissan Xterra, so this is quite different. I love it, especially now that I know how to rev-match.

yes, i hate how our pedals are setup.. if i ever start to take my car to any road coarse events i'll have to adjust a few things.. it's going to take a lot more than just a set of AWE pedals to fix that problem though

Got the APR chip today. Got the Stock/93/Security Lockout programs. What a difference! The most noticeable difference are third through 6th. Third and fourth pull like crazy and there is even some power left for 5th and 6th. I love it! Thanks for the help everyone. Really appreciate it!

It may be my imagination, but i think the engine sounds a little different too.
