Default No clamp on hose from manifold - should there be?

I was chipped and it worked for a few days then felt like stock again. I installed a 710N DV and no difference. I have been told to check for a boost leak. I noticed on my manifold that the hose connected has no clamp on it. Shouldn't there be a clamp on it. I pulled it off and it was on snug but I am not sure. My local mechanic said that you do not need it because it suctioning and is not necessary to clamp. I thought that is where the air is pushed out. Please let me know! Thanks!

Default RE: No clamp on hose from manifold - should there be?

no clamp really needed there. But when I replaced my hose I did slap a zip tie on it for safe measure.
