Default new member, quick suspension question

ive been reading the forums for a few days now, and started looking into buying an a4 quattro w/ the 1.8T. Very nice car, the one im looking at is a black on black w/ 60K miles on it. Anything I should be looking for with these cars? currently driving a s13 240sx, and a 65 mustang (not much anymore w/ gas prices though)

Well my main question, i have been looking at getting some coilover for the car, i looked at tein basic coilovers as they are pretty nice on my friends 240sx for daily driver and for the real low look, but it says that the coilovers are only for quattro cars w/ the 2.6 v6 or the s4, not mentioning the 1.8T quattro as a candidate for use with these coilovers. I'm wondering if its just a typo or something they overlooked, or is the suspension on the 1.8 quattro different than the v6/s4 suspension?

They will fit both, but the 2.8 and 1.8 springs will have have different spring rates as the cars do not weigh the same.

Tein are not that popular with the Audi's yet if you want coilovers look at the Koni's or H&R's

Just got koni coilovers for 895 shipped, installed them and love them. If your on a budget and cant justify spending 1200 for suspension and want coilovers, get the koni's. They only make tein for the B6. FK also makes good coilovers along with Stasis.

black on black w/ 60K miles on it. Anything I should be looking for with these cars?
Maintance records, specifically the belts, tensioner and water pump. Costly repair job and it should be done right around 60-70k.

eibach springs give a pretty good drop? I like a pretty slammed look.

I use the raging panda name all over the net, mostly nissan sites though, first venture into the euro car world tuner wise. I use to have a 4dr mk III golf, it was nice i guess, i just want a little more style and luxury.

ive been looking at the koni and hr coilovers, looks like the konis might be the choice, thanks for the advice about belts and such. It seems the black on black got sold yesterday, so when i went to look at it, i was sorely disappointed, just have to keep looking.

currently 93 240 coupe, mostly stock. went though another 93 coupe a few years ago, some of my favorite cars, just want something a little nicer for daily driving. both coupes ive had are white

I love nissans too, theyve been good to me. my first one when i sold it has apex coilovers, aem intake, sparco sprint seat, and at some point had hks exhaust, short shifter, fake advan wheels, fake blitz wheels, enkei mesh (cant afford real nice wheels when you curb them often), and some other little stuff. I try to do all my own work, and this car makes it easy to do. water pumps, fuel filters, oil changes, spark plugs and such. i miss that car.

audi's are surprisingly easy to work on. especially if you get a vag-com (with this handy tool you could argue that audi's are the easiest cars to work on yourself). especially for being a german luxury car. big thanks to vw for that one.
