Yes it's the same, I have a friend who has a 97 quattro and used the same procedure.

The only issues I have are the check engine light and I had a strange noise come from the vehicle when I started it up (cold day) and it went right away after about 20-30 seconds.... To me it sounded like a fuel pump or something like that priming the system, but louder than a normal operating sound of the engine... Needless to say it scared me, because I just bought the vehicle. My goal is to update/replace the things that need to be done on a 60k vehicle and then start w/ some simple mods..... Ya know what I'm sayin'

I'm the kind of person that wants to know everything I can about my ride... FYI - I will be asking a lot of questions.
Nick.....

Daytona that noise that is from the passanger side and its like a buzzing is the Air intake manifold. Usually its just the gasket.. the gasket cost around 30 bucks but labor will kill you. It cost me like 300 bucks by the time they were done. But dont forget it could be the whole unit. And it will be more expensive is you need the whole air intake manifold replaced.. I would get that checked

My car also makes some interesting noises when you first start it up. I woulnt worry about it too much, unless it becomes very loud or completely abnormal.
