Default New Audi Owner Questions

Hi everyone. I recentyly purchased a 01 1.8t qtr and I was wondering what the most bang for your buck HP components are available. I have a 92 talon with 400+ Hp so I know what I am doing with cars just not the German ones. Any input on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ryan Sabo

alot of peolpe are coming from talons and eclipes these days
but a chip is the most bang for the buck but it will only get you about 200hp and 220-230tq
look up www.giacusa.com and www.goapr.com
but u can always up grade the turbo and there are a few kits out there rite now

Ko4 with P-16 file (chip)
FMIC
310cc injectors
710n DV
K&N drop in
5 bar FPR

Good for 240whp

Otherwise just get a GIAC chip for 400-500$ puts you at 200HP at the crank

On your DSM that should have given you wicked boost creep!!!! These cars are nothing like DSM's so forget it all.....LOL You need a chip to play at all trust us we know...

Your stock intake is very good up until you get a FMIC then you can step up and get a open filter. I say this cuz the turbo is so close to the filter that you will have heatsoak problems that only a FMIC will cure.

A down pipe will help alot.

It did until I did other mods. So no boost controlers then Huh? Chips is the way to go. What size turbo is on these 1.8ts anyway. It is hard to see but it doesn't even seem comparable to a TDO5H.

No MBC the chip gives you timing and boost...better than a MBC so really it's a good thing!
These turbos are smaller than a stock TDO4 yes....

Stock Boost is What on a 1.8t? I am guessing around 8 or 9. So do the dowpipe before even doing a full exhaust? Is this right.
