Need quick help.... GIAC/ECU reset
I'm having my cat replaced today (after it broke at the weld) and I'm sure i'm throwing codes since there was nothing for the O2 sensors to read. My question is, will having the ECU reset clear the GIAC? My thought's is, "NO," but I wanted to ask the experts. My mechanic says he can't clear the codes -- only reset.

The chip is soldered on, its not going to be lost during a reset. You can have no power to the ECU for a long time and it wont hurt it.
I'm guessing his "reset" method is disconnecting the battery, if that happens make sure you have a radio code!

If its a solder on chip, youll never lose the giac program... If its a flash, i think if you take the ecu out and it is disconnected for over a month, it may.. thast just what ive heard but cant back that up in any way.

i can't wait to go drive the car with the hi-flow techtonics cat and the borla exhaust. barely got to drive it before the old cat went **** up. [8D]

Damn straight it's a beeyotch -- that's why it's at the garage this morning! I figured it cost me about $150 to get it installed, but sparing myself the migraine and a major case of the *** was worth it! LOL!
