Need Help - Audi Rims
Hello!
I have a 2006 Audi A4 that does not have Audi rims and I don't like them, plus one of my rims is actually cracked and I can't really drive the car because the tire goes flat. I'm trying to save some money instead of buying new rims/tires from an Audi dealership and am looking into buying used rims (might buy new tires). On craigslist I found a 1998 Audi A4 that is being sold for parts and I was wondering if anyone knew if the rims on a 1998 A4 would work on a 2006 A4? Here is the ad:
1998 AUDI A4 2.8L BLACK
Also, would 18 inch A6 rims work on an A4? I know my car originally came with 16 inch rims so not sure if I should stick with that size?? What would you recommend if you needed/wanted Audi rims but want to save some money?
Thanks in advance!

I show the rim sizes for the 06 a4q choices are 7x16 with 42-45mm offset, or 7.5x17 with 43-45 offset, or 8x18 with 43.45 offset. But the 98 a4 would use 6x15 with 45mm offset.
Knowing the offset is helpful in looking for other rims to fit. But you still have to check clearance between the rim and caliper and turning the steering lock to lock for tire clearance. Factor in the weight of the car too.
An 06 a6q with 8x18 rims uses 43-48mm offset. This is very close to the offset size of the 06 a4 so there is a good chance you could use the A6 rims on your A4. Audi doesn't provide a fitment guide for us to answer questions like that though. You might want to search this forum in more detail to try and find out what works for your car. Or call the Tire Rack. If you'd like OEM rims I can help you with that. I'd like to price them out if you know what you'd like. Please call us if you have questions. Thanks!
