Yes, it did.

The noise was coming from the broken tensioner.

I replaced all the above mentioned parts, and it is back on the road running normally again.

Yeah, I thought about that. I think I did PM you when it first started running bad, to see if you wanted to stop by with the VAG com.

Anyway, we definitely need to hook up sometime.

I did meet Arif one day, he was pretty cool. I'd like to go to one of the drag strips sometime and check that out.

The timing belt change went well. I learned quite a bit about lining up everything, as it seemed the belt may have jumped a tooth or two.

I stopped driving it as soon as I was having the problems, so I think that saved me from valve damage.

Anyway, She's back to rippin it now. Everything is running smoothly, no problems I can find.

 

So when are you gettin it chipped? Or is it? I forget....

I bought it in November last year. All the mods were done already, and very nicely.

I love the car, it is set up very nicely. It handles and Brakes friggin awesome, and has decent power.

Although now that I have ridden in Arif's car, I dream of a 2871 practically nightly!!!!!

I have done tie rod ends, alignment, ignition module, fog light grills, and now timing belt. Hopefully BT some day!
