Default N75J installation on a b6 a4

I just bought a n75j and can only find a DIY on the AW forum and it is for a different model. I was told to take off the passenger side headlight and that it was located directly behind it. Does anyone who installed one on a B6 want to give me advice.. or any link to a diy. Thanks

I hear it goes in rotated 180 degrees when compared to the stock one.. I tried flipping it and my car choked when I turned it on... so I switched it to the same way the stock one was plugged in and my car started fine and sounded normal. I drove home and it felt ok.. then I put it in stock mode and it drove for about 2 minutes with boost and then all boost stopped... I turned off the car and turned it back on but there was still no boost. I opened the hood to make sure that all the lines were still in(which they were) Might I have put it in backwards.. if you put it in correctly does the car choke when the ecu is getting used to it?

The 710n diverter valve goes in backwards sometimes. The N75 should only go in the stock way. Otherwise, the wastegate may not open. That would be bad.

Please don't make similar posts on the same subject.

I do not think that is correct... If you look compare a stock n75 and a n75j they are oriented differently. Should the long tube still be connected to the intake.. the connector to the ecu should be pointing downward with the n75j too right? if anyone has installed themselves.. please clarify

You are incorrect. Any version of the n75 will go in exactly as the stock one was installed. The only thing that can be installed in reverse, as baconbait already said, is the DV. Stop driving until you install your N75 the right way or you may cause some serious damage to the turbo.
Please show us where you read that it goes in "180 degrees" compared to the stock one?

In order to hook the correct lines to the correct tubes on the n75j, it must be installed in reverse when compared to the n75f. This is because they are oriented differently(if you disagree look at a picture of them side by side (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothrea...ostid=34356493) (scroll down to the pic of them) The n75j will face down while the n75f faces up. As long as you make sure that the long tube is connected to the line going to the intake you will be fine.

"4. Here is a comparison of the N75F and N75J, clearly now you see why the "J" valve needs to be fitted in reverse!"

actually.. I guess we are both right... in order to install it the same way the orientation of the j valve has to be reversed

Doesnt make any sense at all.
For one, that article is for a VW, all main components are in different locations and orientations compared to an Audi.
For two, your car choked when you installed it in reverse, that must tell you something..
I would tripple check your connections including wireing/plug.
It is likely that the ecu needs to adapt to the new N75. When you say "no boost" do you mean your boost gauge reads 0? Do you even have a boost gauge to say for sure that there is "no boost" when in stock mode?

Also... According to ECS tuning, the N75 race/J valve is not recomended for use in the B6.Some have luck with it, some dont, just like with the B5 but worse with the B6 according to them.

it has nothing to do with the car. Look at the pictures of both valves, they are not the same. Literally no boost, read on a vag com.. I have felt limp mode and that wasnt it. My friend plugged it in the first time when it choked.. and he didnt plug it in to the ecu. This is a technical question I dont see why people are getting defensive. Simply look at a picture of both.
