My left rear tail light had some condensation forming inside so I removed it to air it out.

There were water stains inside so I poured some alcohol inside, poured out the rest and hooked up an cold hair dryer to help dry it all out.

There were still some cloudy marks from the alcohol so poured a bit of tap water in to try and rinse it out. When I turned the headlight over I see 2 big cracks as if it had been dropped.






They were obviously not there before so could there have been some hairline cracks from when I got rear ended, which would explain the condensation, and then the cold tap water made these big cracks form?

I just didn't think temperature change from cold water could do this to plastic.

And yes... the housing was cold when I was working on it.
