yea mine doesn't move very much too, actually i was about to ask the same question. it was once above 200 for a while then i figured out that there is a problem with my oil level and i had to add 1.5 qt oil, from that point it never risedabove 160-170 range. so i thought that might be a good indication of watching your oil level. but i really don't know why it doesn't rise more or why the hell that indicator starts from 150... anyone has an idea?

When youre driving in 10-20 degree temps, its not going to move up much anytime soon. In these temps I have to be driving for 20 mins or more before it reaches 160-170. Summertime is usually about 225.

oil pressure gauge is better than a temp gauge or both

Thats why we have an "OIL" light that comes on if oil pressure gets too low.

but it dosnt give you a true reading?? same as a coolant warning ( light ) it also dosnt give any data because its not a gauge,

dont confuse warning lights with actual data ( digital or gauges ) a light is a light its either on or off

There is no confusion. Im just trying to make the point that if a dangerous condition occurs, you will be warned. You dont really NEED any extra gauges than what is already there unless you are moderately to heavily modded. Yes, a oil pressure gauge is better than a oil pressure warning light.
