i took my car to get an oil change when i brought it home i noticed the oil dipstick funnel was crack and broken! well I ordered the part but now cant get the old part to come off any suggestions?

 

happend to me too. gets so hot makes the plastic become so brittle. Im assuming you have a 1.8t, cuz thats the only engine ive seen it happen to. its easiest to take the 3 screws off the coolant resevoir tank and move it out of the way. You should be able to get to the bottom of the oil dipstick funnel where it connects down bellow pretty easily from that angle. If you try to pull it off from the top, it will just start breaking off in peices and make it even more complicated to remove.

 

It is held on by a bulge in the metal dip stick tube. You will have to slice it off with a dremel and a fiberglass cutting blade. takes one minute with a dremel.
