my goal for chipping

my goal for chipping
Im going to be getting a chip soon and I want to know what to expect. The reason I want to chip is because I've always been jealous of my brother's 05.5 A4Q1.8T which has 200 hp stock. I want my car (98.5 A4Q 1.8T, 150hp) to feel as close as possible to the performance of his vehicle. Is the chip the right way to go, and which chip would it be?

RE: my goal for chipping
to answer your question, yes!
You will feel a huge difference but is still a daily drivable car. you will love it. Speed tuning has a good deal on there chip ($125), you'll have to find the thread.
apr is having a special, if you buy one program then they will install a second one for free www.goapr.com
you will also need to buy a new DV with your chip if you have a B5(1996-2001)

RE: my goal for chipping
during normal driving it will feel exactly like stock, but during "spirited" driving it will be much faster. you control how much boost the turbo creates by how much you push the gas pedal.
as for who to get. APR, GIAC, and REVO are all solid choices. APR is 400 while GIAC and REVO are 500. GIAC is my personal choice
or you could get a speedtuning or inmotion chip. both of these companies are bigger over in europe but their reputation isn't that well established over here. speedtuning seems to be cheaper (especially if you get in on the group buy going on now) but both of these companies require you to send them your ECU, so your not gona be able to drive your car for a few days to a week. and there is more risk since no one knows how their chips hold up yet
