My first service interval...opinion needed
Hi all...I bought a used 02 A4 back in November, and now it's time for the 60,000 mile service (even though it's at 52k currently)
I called the dealership and they want $600 for the service.
Service includes oil, air filter, tire rotation, and inspection.
I feel this is ridiculously expensive...do you guys usually have audi perform the service or do you change the oil and air filter at one of the 10 minute places (or yourself)? And, are the 10 minute places able to reset the computer so my dash will stop warning me?
Thanks!

if you know how to do an oil change....do it. air filter is a no brainer, as is spark plugs and wires.
Just go to some local in-good-standing dealership or mechanic to get an inspection and tire rotation (or even do the tire rotation yourself if you have a jack) saves ALOT of money

Hey you still gotta do your timing belt on a V6 you know. I wouldn't be doing at 52k though. And don't get robbed at the stealership, do all that stuff yourself man.

haha thats whack bro 600 bills! Air filter and oil change are both easy DIY's for like 50$ if you have a jack and tools. Obviously you'll need to go get it inspected somewhere though. If you don't really want to do the oil change though you can get it done at some shop for like 60$ I'm not really sure what the prices are cause I always do it myself but whatever you do don't pay 600$ for that. If you don't feel like doing anything yourself just go to a shop somewhere and not the dealership i'm sure you'll get a better price.

Oil change with Mobil 1 is 35 dollars at Walmart. Bring an OEM Bosch or Mann filter that you bought over the net for 5 dollars. New air filter is 15 dollars and takes you 15 minutes. Interior air filter is another 30 dollars and takes 10 minutes. Spark plugs for NGK platinum would be about 60 dollars and take you 1 hour, a socket wrench set and a 15 dollar torque wrench.
Tire rotation is a 30 minute job, or have it done at Walmart for 15 dollars.
