My engine is hunting??

RE: My engine is hunting??
Had the same problem with my A4, every time I stopped the car it would almost stall and then recover, it would do this twice and then all would be fine.
This problem only started when I had the cam chain replaced, so I had Audi to a full diagnostic check on the car, and it turned out to be a faulty throttle body. This was replaced and now all is fine.

The Car has done over 120,000 miles and was not running very smooth, even more so during gear changes!!!!! Audi said it was the cam chain so I had it replaced, and it now drives perfect…
Although it was a costly job to get done it was well worth the money.

HI imolaS4
I have two Audi’s. An A4 1.8 Manual and an A4 Avant 1.9 TDI 110 Manual, it was the 1.8 which I had the problem.
I don’t even think you will pay $350 to fix that problem in the US… I live in Rip Off Britain, and my Audi dealer like to take the eye ball’s and the sockets when the car goes in for service:-(
