My baby is falling apart on me

My baby is falling apart on me
I am the proud owner of a 2002 1.8t whichhas not beenmaking me so proud lately. I take good care of my car and it only has 57,000 miles on it.
A few weeks ago while rolling down my window, i heard a crackling noise then my window fell down into the door panel. I am assuming the myregulator has shattered.I was quoted about $250 to fix this problem.
Last week I went to check my oil, only to find that I can't pop my hood. It looks like my hood release cable has broken. To make things worse it broke from under the hood, so i cannot even use pliers to pull on the cable. The stealership wants about $400 to fix this. Other independent shops are asking about $200 because it is an "audi."This other shop is also saying that they might scratch theaudi logo on my grill when trying to pry open the hood. The part is only $25 , which i already purchased.
I have decided that i am going to attempt to fix these problems myself. A friend of of mine says he can prob help me with the window regulator. Does anyone have any idea on how to manually pop the hood? Any other suggestions are also welcomed and appreciated. I am due for my oil change and need to get under that hood ASAP.

RE: My baby is falling apart on me
To open the hood, use a really long screwdriver from under the car and you can un-latch it from underneath the car (this may take some time) Since its a 1.8T you should be able to get at the latch, i had to do this a couple of times when i forgot to put the cable back on the hood latch. [:'(]
