Sounds a little risky tho. How much HP gain are we talking about with taking out the test pipe?

With just the Speed Tuning chip? Probably around 40 hp, but I don't think anyone with that chip has had their car on a dyno to tell for sure.

you mean how much hp you get by taking out the cat? 10-20hp on a chipped setup. speedtuning chip probly adds 30hp, so all together you'd get probly 40hp and 80ft lbs of tq over stock

there has been a little talk about Ctapp and unitronic. What kinds of gains are we talkin about here. By the way i am not afraid to dump all my $ on just the chip. I still dont know if i should just save it and get a APR or GIAC

ctapp is for BT setups

unitronics/apr/giac will all give you ~40hp and ~70ft lbs of tq

Honestly bro IMO.. if you aren't willing to upgrade the turbo to atleast a k04 its not worth doing anything to an A4..

Just look at this sad video
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...&plindex=0

And thats with a K04 and all that other stuff.. Its prob a little low to be honest but still just sad

I have the same setup + a little more on my car.. I've kept up/beat a G35 but for the money on a k03 its just not worth it IMO. I'm not trying to bash anyone at all.. Even with my setup which is to the point where I don't know what more I can do other then meth/water injection I wish I went BT. But then you loose reliability

Only get Unitronic or CTAPP if you plan on getting a big turbo setup later on. I recommend Unitronic over CTAPP because they have been around longer and are more reputable as i previously said, although like chaos said, ctapp has some good tuning as well.

If you are not going to get a big turbo setup then go with the Speed Tuning chip because its only $125, that is a sweet deal that will get you 30-40hp.

you can view the dyno charts on www.speedtuningusa.com. they are in Hp/Kilowatts and Newton meters - whichyou have to convert to ft-lbs for torque.the advertised HP is about 50 hp, andtorque isless than the GIAC,but we're talking a a$375 differencehere. Plus, you don't know what programor tuner you want to go with until you pick out your HP goals and your BTset up. spending $125 onan ecu upgrade now will just show you what differenceprogramming a chip can do.Youprobably aren'tgoing to take that car from stock 150hp to being off the road for ~at least 3 weeks while you (doing the work yourself, and considering DEEP pockets), upgrade EVERYTHING.... TURBO,FMIC, DV, INTAKE, EXHAUST + CUSTOM DP, BRAKES, CONTROL ARMS, SUSPENSION (I'm putting together a groupbuy on coilovers),INJECTORS, AND CHIP...
Play with it first for $125 and a good dv while you research it more and decide what your long term goals are for the car.
