Mobil 1 vs. other synthetics

RE: Mobil 1 vs. other synthetics
I used Royal Purple 10W40 in the summer and Bardahl 5W40 in the winter.
I do like the Bardahl because it took away the valve lifters noise that I used to hear in the summer. I tried using RP with Lucas stabilizer and the noised went away, but now just using the Bardahl without stabilizer. I guess the Bardahl was the answer to my problem.
I paid around $7 CDN for a litre of this stuff compare to $11 a litre of the RP.

RE: Mobil 1 vs. other synthetics
I used to use Mobil 1 and had no problems. A friend told me about Amsoil and I have been using that since, about 10 years now. Nothing at all wrong with Mobil 1 but I had a TSI when I switched and the car just felt like it ran better when I went to Amsoil. I did the extended drain entervals, change the filter at 10k and filter and oil at another 10k. Amsoil says you can go to 12.5k in a natrually aspirated car. In the TSI I think I could have gone 12.5 but never tried it, the oil still looked clean when I drained it. Same for the Audi and every other car I have owned.
