Mileage Question

RE: Mileage Question
I'd call and just see if finding an A4 with your criteria is even possible for him to do and then go from there. I wouldn't be surprised if they said they can't find one that low price for that many miles, but it's worth a shot

RE: Mileage Question
Ask what has been replaced on the car, how often oil was changed and w/ what oil, who serviced the car, e.t.c. If you can't have someone look at the car, check for leaks of course, and hook up a vacuum gauge to the engine, it's easy quick and can tell you a lot about the condition of an engine.

RE: Mileage Question
Yeah, I emailed the guy at the transportation station and asked if he could do that.
Here's the car that I'm currently considering.
1996 A4 Quattro - $4900

RE: Mileage Question
Yes, but it's impossible to find anything else, really. My only requirement for a car, really, is AWD. Naturally, my first choice is Audi, since along with Subaru, they have the best awd systems in the world. I've also been looking at Land Rover Disco's and mitsubishi's, however the Audi is what I like best. I'm willing to deal with the higher miles - it's priced within my range, and isn't at all in bad condition. The only thing "bad" about the car is the higher mileage, which is what i'm trying to work around/figure out. My understanding is that the miles don't really mean beans as long as the car has been taken care of/maintained...my dad is under the impression that once a car hits 100k, you may as well throw away the keys and have the thing junked...

RE: Mileage Question
Yes. It's just a matter of convincing him - I'm pretty sure though that my parents are leaving it up to me to make my own 'mistakes' after the conversation we had the other day about making "adult descisions", and I'm really fond of this Audi, i just don't want to blindly go and buy it and then have something break, then have them be proven right, you know?

RE: Mileage Question
I know exactally what you mean. You're going to want to ask when the timing belt was last changed on that audi you're looking at. If that breaks, then you're completely screwed.

RE: Mileage Question
If you don't buy it, I'm trading my 96 in for it. Because I want a black one in better condition than mine and I like that interior better.
Let me know, seriously. And is that Doylestown in Franklin or Bucks...please be Bucks, please be Bucks.

RE: Mileage Question
Go for it! The way it sounds you'll crash it in 6mo or so anyway J/K
I think the Audi is a great car but for the money a 92-94 tallon/eclipse would be better $$$ wise.
I've seen GSX's go for 4-5K and talon's are cheaper Stay away from the 95-96 (7bolt motor)crankwalk is a bad deal.
