MEYLE OR BOSCH OR HUCO????
Hey guys I searched for this answer but to no avail. I have to replace my ignition control unit (4D0 905 351)and I noticed that Meyle and Huco are alot less than Bosch. I was wondering if you guys have a recommendation between these brands. Has any one had any bad experiences with Meyle or Huco? Or should I just spend the extra cash and get the Bosch?

I have no experience with meyle or huco...and I strongly support bosch...I guess in the end it all comes down to cash and quality...I'd probably go with bosch as long as the price difference wasn't over 20-30$...I think that it's mostly up to you...I'd guess that the other two brands will not dissappoint you, but at the same time I have no experience with the other two...gl!

Let me tell you a story... I replaced the o2 sensors in my Taurus SHO with Borg warner units - OEM type stuff, and NOT cheap. Persistently for over 6 months I had a CE light indicating a lean condition. I checked everything, fuel filter, vaccuum lines, injectors, EVERYTHING. Turns out the o2 sensors were the culprit. I replaced the BW o2 sensors with Bosch units and bingo, everything was fine.
Go Bosch...

Meyle is a quality german brand like bosch. Meyle is the brand that comes out with a lot of revisions/updates for oem parts that tend to fail or are a bad design... So Itrust them... Id go with either meyle or bosch... Never heard of Huco.

RE: MEYLE OR BOSCH OR HUCO????
Hi All,
I've got the same failure with this part and I need a replacement too. Now I read about this part failing on various web pages and I came across 2 part numbers (8D0 905 351 & 4D0 905 351) and quoted these numbers when speaking with my local Audi dealership. They confirmed that the one I needed for my A4 1.8T was the 8D0... item. Anyway, it turns out that mine should be fitted with the 4D0 item as mine was sold early that year!!!
I too have seen the Hucco part available much cheaper on the web but I've now got the Hitachi 8D0 item, which is also a 4 into 5 pin unit and looks very much the same. Can anyone confirm whether or not these 2 parts are interchangeable? If I go back to the dealership they will credit me the 8D0 part against the older 4D0 part, which is twice the price and about 3x the Hucco price, but I would hate to learn that the Hitachi unit was a better unit (less likely to fail) anyway. Any ideas?
Cheers,
AJW
