Excellent news, jest. Always sucks to have major expenditures during the holidays.
I just crawled in from the garage. The carputer 2.0 is now functional! Screen and sub are in place and speakers are working. False floor is built and amps are secured. Damn, what a job to get all that done before Xmas! My hands feel like someone ran them through a meat grinder.

It's not the same kind of sludge as in the 1.8t's. I'm using it as a general word to describe the crap in my oil. I will remove the valve covers and clean any accumulation of emmulsified water. I also have to remove the oil pan and clean it out there too. i"ll probably run some sort of an engine rinse too.

Just curious how something like that even happens. Getting water/condensation in your engine. I assume you have the v6?

Yes I have the V6. It generally occurs when you make short trips without letting the engine reach operating temperature. I usually drive my car to and from work (less than 5 minute drive). Moisture will naturally collect in the engine, but it's suppose to burn off, once the engine gets hot. Mine never does so it just accumulates. It basically showed the same symptoms of a blown head gasket.

Wow, I wish I knew your mechanic . . . Audi of Hawaii would like to charge me $65 to look at my car and tell me I have a check engine light lol. Then maybe they'll start thinking about what it could be, and add up the bill accordingly . . . any way to reset this stupid thing myself since I know nothing is wrong?
