Major issues with rough idle
1999 Audi A4 AWD audo 2.8L V6
Heres my symptons.
Orignal
Check engine light
1. Throttle Malfunction
2. Camshaft Position Sensor
Car has check engine light on car starts up and runs at 400 rpms i rev it up slowly and it will jump between 1500 rpms and 2200 rmps and stay there. If i rev it up hard it will go up to 6000 rpms like normal. car is back firing and poping alot. So i started tearing things apart to narrow the problem down.
Fixed the Camshaft positioning sensor it was just unplugged. Yesterday i took the Throttle body off and it was really dirty i was also missing a vacume hose which i got today. Check engine light is now off for the camshaft positioning sensor. Today before i put the throttle back on someone told me that it was out of time. So i opened up my timing belt covers and you can see that the cams are not aligned. I than did a compression test.
Drivers side
148 psi
154 psi
149 psi
Passanger side
53 psi
i stopped on the passnager side of the motor cause i figured id have to put a new head on the car anyways. The car was in a minor front end accident. the car will run but has no power and tops out at 20mps. Do you think replacing the Passanger side head and throttle body would fix the issues with the car? i also plan to do a timing belt, water pump and tensioner why im in there. Car has 106,300 on it and i just had it repainted.
