So after seeing what kind of mileage some people here were getting i got curious. I filled up with shell 93 as usual and drove pretty normal too, some heavy accelleration but not too much. As soon as i hit 399 my fuel llight came on. The question is: how much gas is left after the light comes on? i know on my bimmer i get 50 miles till bone dry. I did some searching online and found these links:

somewhere it said the fuel economy on wiki and the average refueling takes place at 10% of the full capacity. Does that mean that my reserve is 1.64 gallons since i have a 16.4 gallon tank?

sheet, its not like there isn't a gas station every 2 blocks peddling their poison.

Just fill her up, you get way better mileage than me, but my right foot is very heavy with this car.

 

yeah better for now until I get chipped. replacing my maf helped by about 10%

 

It says in the manuel exactly how much fuel is left. I think it was like 1.5 gallons or something. Ive never gone over 420 miles on a tank. You really dont want to let your car get low on gas anyway. YOu risk picking up the crap from the bottom of the tank. It will plug you fuel filter and can damage the pump.

 

Mine beeps when I have 3.5 gal left. Empty I still have 1.5 gal reserve

 

mine lies at 1/4 and goes dead, I need a new sender unit some day so I keep it at the 3/4 mark to make sure it doesn't run out ( when I can afford it )
