Loud Groaning When Turning Wheels
My big brother in Afghanistan just sent me his 2000 Audi A4. As it's been sitting for over 2 years, I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time on here getting answers and advice!
I've driven it for a week, and now all of a sudden there is a REALLY loud groan when I turn the steering wheel the slightest bit. The Power Steering fluid level is fine. What should I look for next? Is it still OK to drive while having things checked?

If your fluid is full , check the connections of the power steering suction side. There is a good chance there is air leaking past the hoses & clamps!
Does the fluid look like there is a lot of bubbles when running?

If for some reason fluid is not getting into the system I would not drive it. You could damage the steering system. Also, note that Audi requires a certain type of power steering fluid and if the wrong fluid is used it will create problems.
