looking to buy an a4
hey guys new to the forum. im looking at buy an 2002 A4 quattro 3.0v6 6spd with 43,000k on it. its a great deal and it has audi pre-owned warrenty till feb 08. my question are how expensive are the maintance on there cars? what should i look out for on this car? the car is like brand new has alittle dents here and there and it drives great and very smooth. does anyone know if i can extend the extended warrenty it already has through audi and how much it would be. i would apreciate any advice or info thanks guys.

o i thought u were getting it from a dealer or something. well u have a recommend 17k miles left untill ur due for the timing belt. but i would do it early to prevent any possible engine damage if it does indeed snap. im not trying to scare u, it's a great car but timing belts are an issue on every car. if u think it's a good price then buy it. u'll def enjoy it

would you happen to know how much the timing belt kit cost and does the water pump need to be change at the same time? what would the audi dealer ship charge to do a timing belt service? are there anything else i should look at, like electronicaly ? anymore info or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Timing belt replacement would cost about $1500 if you do it through a dealer (I had checked it at Bernardi Audi in Natick, MA). They replace the water pump, timing adjustment pulley and couple more stuffs. I know this is not cheap. But if you can find a local garage who works on european cars, you can as well knock it off within $700-$800.
Infact the parts needed for timing belt replace, only cost you $250-$300. Rest all is labor charge.

Extended warranty depends on the dealers, I asked and a 2 year audi warranty extension is $2600CDN for 2 years 40 000km it is priceeeeeey for that much I think if the car breaks down within the next two years you will be able to invest that much and get it fixed unless the car is F'd up royaly
