If i would be you i would get a 99.5+ 1.8T Quattro.

99.5 because half way through the year they made some improvements.

1.8T and 2.8 are your engine options. 2.8 is more powerful stock but there is not that many available mods for it out there. 1.8T on the other side is extremely moddable and there is ALOT of stuff for them out there.

About a month and a half ago i gota 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro 5spd with 94K and i paid 14.5K (with taxes, registration and 2yr/60Kfull warranty, the car itself was 11100)but i got a very good deal on it so u might be looking at something more expensive than that (unless you get a good deal )

When u r gettign it just check that everything works (especially everything electronic and the headlight washers). And watch out for things you would watch out for when buying any car. Also i suggest buying a warranty because if you need to repair something it can run pretty expensive.

And definetly get a Quattro.

Hope you find a good car for yourself.

I paid 10,500 for my 98 1.8T FWD with 85k on it. I'd go with the Quattro and lower miles if I had more money. Stick with 98+ for sure, 99.5+ if you have the funds. Take it to an audi mechanic before purchasing it. For a good 98+ A4 Quattro, ur lookin at $14k. And if its from a certified Audi dealer, more like $18k.

I work on BMW and Mercedes and Porsche yet I still drive an Audi.

They are all good, excellent build quality, surperb engines, the 1.8T is nice and very upgradeable, I love my 2.8 and I want my friends V8 4.2 litre, it's a superb car.

Glad to see you've gotten some sense and come out of that "rice rocket"

Damn, you won on that purchase, the '98s at my local dealer were going for 18 and 19k. But then again, I hear Bernardi Audi is overpriced.
