Props on the invention! You should find a way to put a piece of black mesh over it. That would finish it off really nice.

never seen that done before, you should mod a vacuum motor and mount it in so it'll suck in the air instead of letting the air naturally go in. nice mod!!!!!

the whole point of the dryer hose was to see if it actually made a difference.. so now im going to get a peice of pipe bent, and paint the inside and outside black.. and use it only on track days..

Repeat: Not going to drive day by day like this

Im sure a pipe will allow for better air flow since it wont have the ridges like th dryer hose.

Not a bad idea. I had to remove my foglight to make my fmic piping work with my 2871R. I'll be doing my custom heat shield this weekend. Not sure how well this would work with the summer downpours on the east coast.

Good thinking bro! why didnt you keep the stock box? or possibly do the box mod? that turbo gets sooo hot (1000*) let us know how you make the heat shield. I have a ghetto $5 one in there along with the stock but would like to block more heat. preesh

edit: is there anyway to run something from the stock scoop?

How about an Intercooler spray, wouldn't something like this help keep the engine compartment cool?..could probably rig the windshield washer to do this too..hmmmmmm
can someone explain this intercooler spray?

+1, and, teh mesh will help prevent you from ingesting a stone and damaging that purtee filter element, too. Even/ESPECIALLY during track days!!!

like in the STI on the top mount. its exactly what it sounds like...just like your windshield washer spray nozzles. but in the subaru they have their own fill tank.
