Default A little query

Between 3-4000 rpms when accelerating there is a scraping noise that is short and brisk! You hear it in this power band when for example in 2nd then when the revs rise and decrease (same gear by the way) the noise is there....am I right in thinking it could be something to do with the turbo or similar?

The car is a 1.8T '01 FWD 150bhp.

Cheers,

Andy

Noises are always difficult to diagnose, but I'm gonna guess that it doesnt have to do with the turbo. An unknowledgable guess would lead me to think its something with your tranny, synchros or somethin.

I'm no expert either but I have my doubts if it's got anything to do with the trans. It's not a noise of that kind, more like something is vibrating...could well be the undercover of the engine.

I'm booking her in for the 60'000km service including the fitting of winter tyres soon. This will be a good oppurtunity to sort these little things out.

Canada? What gave you that idea?

I'm from Europe.
