Default LED Conversion

Is there a good website or forum article somewhere about someone converting various exterior lights to LED. In particular I want to change out my license plate lights...I understand that when you simply pop new LED bulbs in that they do not work and need a resistor...but yet when searching for articles on here...no one (who has completed their project) has posted a good "how to". I have a B7 A4...and I know I'm going to get some errors about bulbs being out unless I do everything correctly.....any help would be appreciated....

THX!

I am gonna do it to mine. License plates, front parking lights and center brakes.

I just order some bright white LEDs. I am sure I will have alot to spare so if you want some, I can make extras for a nominal fee.

Of course I can send you pics after if you are interested.

I've heard people say that those from 42 Design will work on some platforms like B5 and B6...but what about B7? I've heard people mention that if you just "pop them in" without any mods, they will not light because the watts are off and the car tells you to replace the bulb....that you have to put a resistor in line somehow for everything to work right.....

Victor...let me know if they work out for you...if so, I might be interested if we share the same bulb sizes....

I will post pics once I have it installed.
I am planning to wire everything myself 'cause I want the custom fit.

Lazer... what happened to the middle? is it just the pic or is there not much light in the middle?
Otherwise, pretty good.

aublutiger...
I have a B5 so there is not much problem for me.
Let me know the bulb type for your B7 and I can make something for you that can work as direct replacement for you.
if you can tell me the size and watt for your bulb, I can make the LEDs draw enough current so fool the system.
