LCD turns off when I start the car.
2000 a4...have had it for about a month and now the large center LCD screen turns off whenever I start the car. I do not have an owner's manual-is it possible that I ly turned it off-or did it die on me? is there anything i can do-the screen still works when the car is not started but as soon as i turn it on it goes black.
thx for the help
also...how much would it cost to replace this screen?

RE: LCD turns off when I start the car.
sorry to drag a two year old thread back from the dead, but my LCD just died too. the warnings still work, because the low fuel thing is on. I know the actual LCD itself isn't dead because when I bring the car to a stop and press the left button (the clock one), the display cycles through the various "dummy lights".
now, I gather from the previous post in this thread that the button on the underside of the wiper stalk turns the screen off and on, but this button has never had any function in my car since I've owned it. is there any other way to turn my LCD back on? any other insight into this would be appreciated!
