RE: ATP graphs accurate? GT28RS, GT2X, K04
the t360trim is just below a 28rs and the turbonetics t3s60 is almost the same as a 28rs in lbs/min. Both will make pretty much the same power as a 28rs, if not just 5-10hp less at the same boost level. A t3t4 50trim .48 will take another 700-800rpms to spool (roughly 4k) and will make far more power at less boost and have plenty of room to grow also, not to mention far safer on your rods than a gt turbo. But if 300whp is your goal, the t3 60trim is a better choice, even if it leaves you just short of you goal.

thanks, appreciated,
what sort of torque would a t3super60 or t3t4 super 40 make?- got to choose a new clutch/flywheel that can handle the bigger turbo but not be too hard on the leg for a daily driver, I should be able to get the'Spec' brand here in Australia, maybe other brands also, maybe like Southbend, ECS, Sachs...
Have you heard any bad rep about the Spec brand?

t3 60trim would put you right at the 300ftlb range.
From what i here, Spec is a hit/miss kind of thing. Some have tons of success and others break in no time.

a t3t4 super 40 wouldn't be much more I guess (have to look at graphs)? how much should you go above the rated torque capacity when choosing the clutch?
Spec advertises torque capacities;
stage 2- 330
stage 2+ - 410
stage 3- 450
stage 3+ - 550
or the '240MM upgrade kit'
stage 1 - 385
stage 2 - 510

as long as the 410 clutch isn't too hard for DD.
I checked the graphs yeah around 300 for the torque. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2698530

I edited my last post, wasa bit strung outwhen I wrote it. Was just trying to clarify regarding the clutches whetherSpecuse the torque at thecrank or at the wheels, obviously the drive train is going to absorb some torque (twisting force)when engaged.
Spec probably refer to the torque at the crank, so considering a quattro drive train loss of 25%; 300 ft-lb measured at the wheelsis about 400 ft-lb at the crank. therefore I'd go with the stage 2+. Spec mention it has very good drivabilty and wear resistance.
