Default RE: ATP graphs accurate? GT28RS, GT2X, K04

a t3 60trim (garrett) and a t3s60 (turbonetics) have been proven performers over a gt28r. t3 60 has been making 300fwhp on more than a handful of gti/jetta's for awhile now with outragous spool. This would be a great alternative to getting a gt turbo while making comparable power. But do stay away from turbonetics turbos, i have seen/heard many of people having them blow withen 500miles. get the garrett t3 60 trim which is 99% the same turbo (only diff is 2cfm less).

Also most people run them at 22-24psi daily while making tons of power.

I think can get Garrett in T3super60 spec without having to go Turbonetics.

I talked to Tyrolsport about the Turbonetic turboand said they had good success with them (I mentioned reliability issue). Also was also told the difference in spool between BB and non BB was about 500rpm with the T3...

Can you get the T3super60 (spec)or T360 with BB and/or watercooling without going with Turbonetics?

the details of the turbonetics sound pretty good and they offer 1 year warranty. Perhaps some reported failures you heard were bad a batch, a bad setup ie oil flow problems, older design...?

I wonder how a t3/t4 40 trim would compare lag wise? probly can get with BB

you dont need either water cooled or BB for a t3 60 trim. They will hit 20psi @ ~3K and hold power to just about redline. Garrett makes far better quality turbos than turbonetics and you wont have a single worry. Go garrett, be happy, and make over 300hp.

If I could exactly what wanted from Garrett, I would go with them, having BB on the super60 makes a fast spooling turbo even faster. Watercooling, well, it helps to prevent bearing failures, I guess ideallyif let car warm down properly then watercooling not necessity.

I haven't 100% decided, most likely I wouldn't have any problems with the Turbonetics T3 super 60, spec wiseseemstheIDEAL street turbo. If I did have hassles, then yes I'd give it back under warranty and fit the more basic trustyGarrett and save some money too.

failures can occur due to manufacturing standards, meaning can have good and bad ones ieiffriday avo job or monday morning job in the machine shop. Turbonetics say they blueprint, but theres no guarantees.

If failures typically occur before 500miles then atleast in warranty too

The turbo is so small it negates the need for BB's, also water cooled isnt that big of a deal, many have blocked off the water ports in gt turbos and not run lines to them (i have also on my last car). For cost, realiability and peice of mind, go garrett, you wont regret it.

the ball bearings can give 500rpm better spool. I was told by Speedy G that some of the spool times for the T3super60can vary - after 3K.He said he has had the Turbonetic T3super60 BB for 4 years without any problems.

anyway I don't think could really go wrong with a GT28R-real good torque,GT28RS or T3super60.

be good if they had more options with the GT turbos, maybe a quicker spooling Gt28rs .48 a/r ?
