I'm looking at the gt28rs, not the 2871r, does it have to run lower boost also?
I've been looking at getting Unitronic,what about PES tuning?does the ECU software adapt to modsie; if I got the ecu done with standard exhaust but then later fitted hi flow exhaust would I have to get software reupdated?

do you know of any good hi flow cats that aren't too expensive, don't know much about the ATP one..

But the ecu will adapt to any other mods, you may need to maximize the tune with lemmiwinks or the new uni tuner (about the same). You just need to have the correct maf and and injectors and you are good.

I'm still deciding on whether to go GT28R or GT28RS, from what I gather the GT28RS is prob about 4-500rpm behind in lag, meaning less torque available in lower revs, but it provides 30 to 40 more hp than the GT28R.
EDIT: I misread the graph below, maybe the lag difference is only around 200rpm, not 4-500rpm?

(NOTon Audi, but probably similar)I found seems the extra hp of the RS is only above 5000rpm, it street use it would be hard for me to use it, would end up way over speed limit and I find I don't rev much over 5000rpm. So the R would give less lag, more torque, and substantially more power quicker than the RS. I guess the RS would be better suited to racing and drag use.

misread the graph, I thought lag differencewould beabout 4-500rpm between gt28r and gt28rs, but maybe it's less?

it's hard to get good comparison, if I was using the eliminator I guess the difference would be more noticable, but it seems using the manifold hardware kit and the quicker spooling Gt28rs. then the lag will be minimal. It would be nice to see them compared, at what RPM does the RS start making the extra power? the graph I was looking at might not be the faster spooling RS. I'm not sure exactly sure of the lag difference between the R and RS, but it probly isin't much. I think I saw a forum saying the RS was lacking torque, but that might have been an eliminator kit and/or the slower spooling .86 a/r turbo.
