i had to get a 1+ flash to pacify me till i get a BT... but just bought a shiny rock this weekend so i might do a k04 for now... i only need about a grand for the k04 and reflash VS 5k for the BT

 

you do realize that the output for the ko4 over your ko3s is 5hp right? The swap is worthless for a 01+ car. Your better off spending $500 for a nice w/m dual nozzle kit. You will see bigger gains throughout the rpm band instead of just a slightly larger peak and very week topend (5k+). Stock turbos need timing to make power.....NOT BOOST.

 

Doscontained: how are you running 36.5 lb on a k04? thats like torturing a cat into towing your car home. does that boost fall on its face after 4k rpm?

 

true true but it will hold the power longer... im probably just going to leave it be and do a er comp or sport and FE ss clutch with a stasis diff this winter...

Going from 1+ on a k03s to a k04 would be like throwing money away. Skip that. K04's crap outaround redline just like the k03's. Youd be paying $700+ to gain what? 10hp and about 300rpm's longer pull up top?

 

Like 1.8t just said, your not really going to hold power longer. You may think you do because the tunes for it boost it to the moon, so it will take longer to taper off. You would acutally hold power longer if you had a ebc longer than you would witha ko4 + mbc.

Did i mention yet that the dimenesions are all the same?

 

because he read it off vagcom and didnt take out 1bar/14.7psi. So he is really boosting 22psi. Also, the stock map can see anything past 22psi, so its just guessing after that (that is if you have a car with a map).
