Thanks for the insight all. It was looking like a waste. The K04 funds get re-allocated to a FMIC and saving for a BT begins. So let it be written, so let it be done.

 

when a larger turbo is only 200-300 dollars more. K04 is junk by comparison.

 

chaos and khj, do you guys have the hammer file for the k04? A couple people in zine say it is a lot better then the normal k04 file, you do have to have a FMIC, and bigger injectors for the more aggressive hammer file though.

hammer is for 01 cars. and actually its the least aggressive out of the 3 b5 k04 files. i would have to go with pc-16 (which is notorious for bad a/f's), and khj677turbo would have to go J-31. which is the most aggressive of the three. they add around 12-20 hp and 30-50 ft lbs of torque overabove what the regular k04 file is at. so you dont get that much more power for another ~600 bucks.

i guess the bigger number throws them off. Or think its a bigger k04-20 from a 225TT
