Just got my A4
So i picked up a 1996 Audi A4 2.8QM from Maryland for only 6500. It has 105,000 Miles. But seem mechanically sound. So I had it shipped up to Boston, and am now giving it the ultimate test. Driving from Boston to Seattle. lets see how she really works. The only problems i have noticed so far was that the climate control panel on the right side where you select fan speed etc. Is very dim possibly due to a bulb being out back there. Replaced Alternator, and had to have aftermarket stereo put in (anyone need a stock one). Well im writing from the road, approximately 1000 miles into the trip/test. If anyone has any other knowledgable info for me, like what the little snow flake on the Instrument cluster means(right next to the outside temp) and what the blank black slot above it is. Well thanks for all your help!

The snowflake will appear next to the outside temp when the temp is 41 degrees or below. Supposed to be a wanring that roads could be icy.
The blank area above the outside temp is where the radio station used to be displayed from the stock audi radio. Since you replaced it with an aftermarket unit you will not have this functionality anymore.

Have you found out what the problem is with the climate control display? The light on the right side of mine has suddenly gone completely out although it is still operational. I'm very reluctant to take it to a dealer for repair if its simply a bulb that needs replacing!

You will have to remove the radio and then the climate control module to change the bulbs. The bulbs are on the back side of the climate control. The snowflake illuminates when there is the potential for icey conditions.
