Holy crap.. I would have been a little fishy on why he wanted to sell it so fast.. i mean crap thats a damn good deal, price is cheap as hell. Did you fly out there before final bidding on ebay or whatever? or did you have to commit to the buy then he flew you out there.
PS good idea if you sell your car on ebay add in to the price, the cost of an airline ticket.. so you seem like a cool dude!! LMAO

WOW so many replies. Well, im from south san jose, actually Morgan Hill to be exact. Right now the boost is turned down to 12psi, the owner didnt want me to kill myself. I did ALOT of research on this car prior to buying. You can find my orignal post on this car somewhere in the forums, but I found a shop the owner took it to to have it inspected, called them, talked to the owner, and got the whole scoop on the car. Compression test came out to 170 across all cylinders (thats stock compression right?). The history on the car is this- The guy I bought it from purchased it last month for himself as a toy, but under the excuse of "its for the wife". Well the wife didnt like it, didnt want to drive it (this car is LOUD), and he cant keep it. Trust me, hes sad to see it go, i felt bad. The previous owner is unknown, he bought it from a dealer who bought it from another dealer because it wouldnt pass smog. Well when the guy I bought from purchased it, he took it and hooked the smog system back up, and also threw a cat on, then smogged it. Keep in mind, this car has an open downpipe, its not hard to pass the rear tailpipe test. It passed with flying colors in both CO and CA. The only thing is, its throwing a CEL which the shop told him is because of the BOV (occassionally misses a cylinder). Does this sound correct? In the handling dept. this car is superb, neuspeed sway bars, neuspeed springs, bilstein shocks, 225/45/zr17 tires, nothing can touch it. Exterior- not a dent ding or scratch, its been garaged its whole life ( i can tell by the garge door opener button- its been used a bit). Interior- as good as from the factory. Shifts are clean and precise with the short shifter, and gas mileage is unbeatable- 38mpg coming back from CO. However- because we dont know the person who modded it, we dont know ALL it has- It may have built internals, I dont know, and dont know how to tell. What should a stock a4 compression test read? I also dont know what cc injectors it has- any way to tell? That gt3071r turbo is awesome, theres a little lag, but once you hit boost hold the **** on.

As far as the airline ticket goes- The owner was a pilot for delta, and really is an awesome guy, i have a new friend out in CO lol. The ticket was for 85 in a 65- we were caravaning to the border together, and i was trying to catch up to him.. he felt bad and gave me cash right there for the price of the speeding ticket. Like I said cool guy. Im driving through there agian next month, and he said to drop by his place and we can stay there as long as we want.. he also has some new snow tires he wants to give me. Im going out there agian this winter to do some snowboarding in aspen with him and my friend too. Also, the car came with a clean carfax report, and he bought me the carfax insurance to make sure there were no ?'s with the title.. as far has his next car goes, hes looking into a S8. So.. anyone else here running a gt3071r turbo?

Haha- funny story on the cop.. he went right past me thinking he was looking for a blue car, hits his brakes, pulls me over. I was having fun on the trip, so it didnt bother me any, and when he gives me the ticket I asked if i could at least get a picture with him for "you know, memories" haha, he looked confused then I told him.. "dont worry, just cause im from California doesnt mean im gay"

RE: Just got back from colorado and... look what I brought with me!
Very Very nice! Congrats. A couple things, yes this car will def be faster than mine with the boost turned up...but you will def need to either find out if it has stock internals and if it does you will definetly need to build the motor, because once you turn the boost up it wont last long. The other thing is I'm not sure if I am seeing the picture right but if I am, you NEED to move that crankcase hose so that its not dumping over the exhaust manifold/ hot side of the turbo. That is a fire waiting to happen.
What programming are you using. Other than that beautiful car! It's tough to stay outta trouble

i paid 17,000 for my stock 1.8 but i like it, and i dont know if i'll be doing any big mods on it except chip and exhaust that would be too much for me with my crazy @ss and speeding tickets...............etc
